Woodbury elections: Wilson and Stafford win city council race
Incumbent Kim Wilson and Donna Stafford won the two seats for Woodbury City Council in the Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024, election with 16 out of 16 precincts reporting.
In a packed field with eight candidates, Wilson received just over 24% of the vote while Stafford received 16%. Dave Hoelzel and Timothy Brewington were third and fourth in voting, respectively, with just under 12% each. Michael Burke and Temmy Olasimbo received 10%, Murid Amini received almost 9% and Benjamin Sherrard received almost 6%. Write-in candidates made up just over 1% of votes received.
Throughout her campaign, Wilson said her priorities would include recruiting and retaining law enforcement, fire and EMS services, adequate infrastructure funding and making city council minutes, live-streams and videos available to the public.
Stafford is a longtime resident of Woodbury whose campaign priorities were public safety, transportation, housing and environmental stewardship.
