Authorities in Cambria County have identified the body of a man who was
County coroner Jeff Lees identified the man as 54-year-old Barry Senior Jr., of Adams Township.
Investigators say fire crews were dispatched, just before 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, for reports of a small brush fire along Route 56 (Haws Pike) near the Cambria County line.
Officials say that after the fire was extinguished, firefighters discovered the remains and contacted law enforcement.
Investigators say Senior's body was located over a guardrail and had been intentionally set on fire.
During a press conference Thursday morning, officials say an autopsy determined that Mr. Senior had reportedly been stabbed and strangled prior to being set on fire.
Lees says Senior died as a result of massive blood loss and his death has officially been ruled a homicide.
Investigators say Mr. Senior died a "very violent death."
Cambria County District Attorney Greg Neugebauer says Senior's parents identified him Wednesday night.
Neugebauer also stated that Mr. Senior's vehicle was reportedly found, broken down, in another county.
Investigators say another individual, who is not being identified, was also found with the vehicle and is currently in custody on an unrelated matter.
Law enforcement did clarify that the individual is a Person of Interest in Mr. Senior's death.
Authorities noted that, according to his family, Senior was last seen or heard from around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Officials say his vehicle is described as a Matte Gray colored, newer model BMW M3.
Investigators are asking the public in the Johnstown and Cambria County area to check any home surveillance cameras to help narrow down an approximate timeline of Mr. Senior's whereabouts prior to his death.
