Veterans Day Parade Monday in Marysville

M.Hernandez15 hr ago

Traffic will be disrupted in Marysville on Monday as street closures and halted public transportation accommodate the city's annual Veterans Day parade.

According to a Caltrans press release, the city will close multiple streets from 8 a.m. to approximately 2 p.m. on Monday. This is expected to further impact the detour in place due to the Hotel Marysville fire in June.

Caltrans advises those traveling within Marysville to use 3rd or 4th Streets to navigate around the closed routes. Those planning to drive through Marysville using Highway 70 are encouraged to instead use State Route 99 and Simpson Lane. Drivers are also advised to allow extra travel time.

According to a press release from Yuba-Sutter Transit, the parade street closures will impact Route 1 and Route 4. Yuba-Sutter Transit will not serve D & 2nd Street or F & 2nd Street stops, nor will it serve bus stops west of Highway 70 and south of 9th Street. The 3rd Street stops near the Adventist Health and Rideout Hospital will be the closest alternatives.

Additionally, in observance of the holiday, Yuba-Sutter Transit will not operate Sacramento services on Monday. However, local and rural routes and Dial-A-Ride will be available.

The nnual Veterans Day Breakfast will again be hosted at 7 a.m. by the Marysville Elks Lodge, 920 D St., Marysville. As usual, it's free for veterans, active military, and first responders – and only $5 for others. For more information contact Mike Reid at 530-713-0521.

The Yuba Sutter Veterans Parade opens at 11 a.m. on D Street in downtown Marysville.
