VIDEO: Car crashes into Fallbrook cafe

FALLBROOK, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — A chaotic scene unfolded outside a popular Fallbrook restaurant Saturday when a car crashed into a cafe's outdoor dining area.

The incident happened around 8:30 a.m. Surveillance video captured the moment the vehicle slammed into a parked pickup truck, sending both vehicles hurling toward Main Street Cafe's patio.

"I was helping some customers at the front desk when I heard this really loud noise," said Addie Shea, a cafe employee. "I saw the looks on their faces."

Fortunately, no one was hit by the truck. However, the crash damaged furniture and umbrellas, as well as the fencing around the cafe's patio.

"It was very chaotic everybody was panicking," Shea continued. "I was trying my best to keep everybody calm."

The driver of the car, however, was injured. The individual was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

"Definitely not something you see every day in Fallbrook," said Shea.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Authorities have not released any additional information at this time.
