Volunteers Needed For Crown Beach Cleanup The East Bay Regional Park District is seeking community support.

ALAMEDA, CA — Crown Memorial State Beach in Alameda has been chosen as a location for the 40th Annual California Coastal Cleanup.

The East Bay Regional Park District is inviting volunteers to participate on Saturday, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Volunteers and staff will work together to remove litter, recyclables, and debris to preserve the East Bay's shorelines and fragile ecosystems.

Last year, the district's volunteers collected an estimated 8,253 pounds of trash from multiple locations.

As part of this year's event, participants who discover unusual items—ranging from a wedding dress to a hand-carved ship decoration—will receive a commemorative East Bay Regional Park District beach towel.

Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gear and wear appropriate clothing, though garbage bags, gloves, and safety supplies will be provided.

Snacks and water will be available.

Interested participants can register online or drop in at designated cleanup sites. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
