Welcome to the Bay Area News Group ( Mercury News & East Bay Times ) girls Athlete of the Week poll.

For the entire academic year, we will provide a list of candidates who stood out over the previous week and allow you, the reader, to vote for the winner.

This week, we consider performances from Nov. 13-18.

Polls close at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Vote as many times as you’d like until then without using bots or any other artificial methods of voting.

Votes by email and any votes after 5 p.m. on Wednesday are not counted.

Winners are announced each Friday online and in the print edition of the Mercury News and East Bay Times sports sections.

We accept nominations until 11 a.m. each Monday.

We also review stats submitted to MaxPreps by coaches/team statisticians.

On to the nominees:

Elle Beebe, Crystal Springs Uplands volleyball: Beebe, a junior, had a stellar all around game in the Gryphon’s 3-2 state championship victory over Oceanside. Beebe had nine kills, three solo blocks and three combination blocks.

Evie Burns, Leland water polo: Burns, a senior, had another huge day in Leland’s 16-10 victory over Clovis North in the CCS title game. She scored five goals in the title matchup, following up a three-goal game in the semifinal vs. Archie Williams.

Hailey Gunderson, San Ramon Valley cross country: Gunderson, a junior, won the Division II NCS title with a 18:41.6 time. San Ramon Valley also won the team title.

Amiya Kuchibhotla, Archbishop Mitty volleyball: Kuchibhotla, a senior, had 11 kills in the CIF Open Division state championship match vs. Mater Dei. In the NorCal victory over St. Francis, she had the game-clinching kill.

Emily Luo, Monte Vista golf: Luo, a senior, was tied for the highest finish among NorCal golfers at the state championships. She shot 72 (one over par) at the Poppy Hills golf club.

Carina Nottingham, Berkeley cross country: Nottingham, a sophomore, won the NCS Division I championship after she ran the race in 18.24.8. Nottingham’s stellar day also helped Berkeley claim the team title over Castro Valley.

Alison Sagara, Miramonte water polo: Sagara, a junior, handed out six assists in Miramonte’s NorCal Division I championship victory over Diablo Athletic League rival Campolindo.

Renae Searls, Alhambra cross country: Searls, a senior, ran the ninth-fastest time, 18:24.8, at the NCS girls championships. She finished second in Division IV.

Charley Staats, Valley Christian volleyball: Staats, a senior, had a team-high 26 kills in Valley Christian’s 3-1 victory over Palos Verdes in the CIF Division I title game.

Shea Volkmer, Campolindo cross country: Volkmer, a senior, finished second in the NCS Division II cross country championships with a 17.29.3 time. Campolindo also won the team title.

Olivia Williams, Acalanes cross country: Williams, a senior, easily won the NCS Division IV cross country title after she ran the race in 18:02.6, almost 16 seconds faster than second-place. Acalanes also won the team title.
