Waterford man charged in sex assaults of two underage girls

Oct. 17—An 18-year-old Waterford man is facing multiple felony charges for allegedly sexually assaulting two girls ages 12 and 14.

Isiah Weber of Waterford was first arrested April 23 ― when he was still 17 years old and a senior at East Lyme High School ― by Waterford police on charges of first-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to minor in connection with the sexual assault of a 12-year-old middle school student.

Weber's case was pending in juvenile court and not made public until he was arrested again on Sept. 6 on charges of second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor. Police say he sexually assaulted a 14 year old.

Weber, who appeared in New London Superior Court on Thursday, has pleaded not guilty to the charges and remains held at the Manson Youth Institution in Cheshire on a $250,500 bond. He is being treated as an adult in both cases. He is due back in court on Nov. 18.

Weber first became the target of investigation on March 11 when police said a middle school student in Waterford reported to a school resource officer that she had viewed a graphic video of a 12 year old having sex with a 17-year-old East Lyme High School student, who was later identified as Weber.

Police said they contacted the guardians of the 12-year-old victim who said they had found Weber with the victim a month earlier and confronted Weber, telling him "the victim was 12 years old and that he should not be hanging around with the victim."

Weber, police said, admitted having sexual intercourse with the 12 year old on two occasions in February and being let in to the victim's home through a window, according to an arrest warrant affidavit prepared by Waterford police detective Leigh Bonkowski.

Weber claims he thought the victim was 14 and did not have sex with the girl after he found out she was 12.

Weber was charged in that case on April 23.

On the evening of July 24, while the first criminal case against Weber was pending, the parent of a 14-year-old Waterford girl reported to police that their daughter had spent the night at Weber's apartment and was concerned something sexual had occurred. Weber was 18 at the time.

The parent of the 14 year old was contacted by a witness who had seen a TikTok post from the victim, wearing a blanket, with Weber, who was not wearing a shirt. The victim had told her parents she was staying at a female friend's house that night but had been picked up by another 18-year-old man and brought to Weber's home.

The girl was taken to the hospital that same night where a sexual assault forensic exam was performed. Police searched Weber's apartment at 82 Longview St., Apt. 14, took a sample of his DNA and seized evidence from his apartment.

The victim told police she had met Weber on Snapchat and was communicating with him on various social media platforms, and the two had shared explicit photos of each other, police said. She told police she considered Weber her boyfriend.

Weber is represented in the case by attorney Gregg Wagman.
