Waterford woman wins $2M after buying winning lottery ticket at Kwik Trip in West Allis
A Waterford woman was the lucky winner of a $2 million scratch ticket after she bought the ticket from a Kwik Trip in West Allis.
Jenifer Barker of Waterford purchased the winning Cash Explosion instant scratch ticket from the Kwik Trip at 10923 W. Lapham St., according to a news release from the Wisconsin Lottery.
Barker claimed her prize at the Wisconsin Lottery Madison office last week.
Cash Explosion, which debuted on Aug. 23, is a Wisconsin Lottery $50 instant scratch game with two top prizes of $2 million.
Barker is the game's first top prize winner since the lottery event launched, according to the Wisconsin Lottery.
This West Allis Kwik Trip location has been a hot spot for lottery wins in 2024. Two winning $10,000 scratch tickets were sold at the same store earlier this year.
Since 2020, the store has sold several big winning scratch tickets, including four $10,000 winners, one $20,000 winner, one $1 million winner and Barker's $2 million ticket.
Retailers who sell winning tickets over $599 receive a 2% incentive, which can go up to $100,000.
For selling the winning Cash Explosion ticket, the West Allis Kwik Trip will receive $40,000, according to the Wisconsin Lottery.
Cash Explosion offers 11 different prize levels. Two second tier prizes of $100,000 and two third tier prizes of $10,000 are still available.
The odds of winning the Cash Explosion's $2 million top prize are one out of 280,000. The odds to win the game's $100,000 or $10,000 prizes are also one out of 280,000.
