Wear that fancy dress again to help Dress for Success
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – An event in Sioux Falls this week is giving people a chance to re-wear their old favorite dresses while supporting a good cause.
EmBe's Dress for Success Program strives to be sustainable while helping women thrive with professional attire.
"We have kept up-to-date, this year we've kept 11,000 pounds of clothing out of the landfill, which is insane," Courtney Hardie, EmBe Women's Program Manager, said.

Sustainability is also something House of Colour associate's keep in mind when helping people find their perfect color and style.
"The average American spends about $630 a month on clothes and shoes, so being able to invest in color and style analysis – being able to know your color, your style to be able to make better decisions," Samantha Westhoff, House of Colour image consultant, said.
Those similar missions are part of the reason House of Colour and Dress for Success are teaming up for an event this week.
"House of Colour and Dress for Success aligns really well, we both want to empower women in our community to show up as their best self and that's why we think this event is so great," Westhoff said.
The Fancy Dress event allows guests to re-wear their favorite wedding or gala dresses for a dinner and fashion show benefiting Dress for Success.
"We wouldn't sustain our current programming or be able to serve women we do or help them as much as we do without events like this creating awareness and then also that monetary assistance as well," Hardie said.
"It's a way to grab your girls for a good cause and, you know, wear that dress that you would love to re-wear again to promote sustainability and just come for a good cause," Westhoff said.
The Fancy Dress event is Thursday at the Country Club of Sioux Falls. Tickets are $50 with proceeds from those sales going to Dress for Success.
