Wednesday night shooting leaves woman with life-threatening injuries

PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - A woman has life-threatening injuries after being shot Wednesday night in Peoria. Peoria Police say they responded to an 11-round shot spotter alert in the 3000 block of North Avalon just after 9 p.m. Wednesday. There, they found a woman with a gunshot wound to her neck. She was taken to the hospital with injuries considered life-threatening. Peoria Police add a child in the vehicle sustained minor injuries during the incident from broken glass. A home in the 3000 block of North Avalon sustained damage from bullet strikes. Peoria Police are asking residents to check any camera footage that could have captured the incident, the moments before, or directly after.
