Week Five Contenders for WKBN Big 22

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Nine local teams scored over 40 points last Friday night, five of which reached 50 points, and Crestview finished with 68 on the scoreboard. It was a big night for our WKBN Big Contenders.

Valley Christian is coming off their highest scoring game in 12 years. The Eagles piled up 56 points against East Palestine, with senior Ja'Sean Lindsey leading the way. He carried the ball 21 times for a staggering 328 yards rushing and four touchdowns.

Poland's Vito Komara had a game for the record books. He threw two touchdown passes in their win over Hubbard and returned an interception 104 yards for another score, the longest pick-six in school history.

Columbiana picked up their first win of the season behind Liam Surgenavic . The Clippers' quarterback passed for 160 yards, rushed 120, and accounted for four touchdowns against Lisbon.

Crestview senior Max Hawkins scored four times as well last Friday and racked up 194 yards rushing in their win over Southeast.

West Branch quarterback Jeremiah Thomas stuffed the stat sheet with 205 yards passing, 243 rushing, and six total touchdowns against Howland.
