Weekend Break: Slick City in North Aurora
NORTH AURORA, Ill. (WGN) — Whether you need to slide, catch some air, duck, dive or dodge, Slick City in North Aurora is the place to go burn some energy on this edition of Weekend Break.
The indoor slide facility opened in September and features nine different slides that are around 20 feet tall, two air basketball courts, an air dodgeball court and a junior area for kids.
"I think that's the coolest thing about this is they can kind of build up their confidence with the smaller slides and then take on the big ones," said Megan Legler, a Slick City customer. "Being a home school family my kids don't have gym all the time. Sometimes to a challenge to find ways for them to get the crazy energy out and this is great because when we leave they're exhausted."
A special promotion happening at Slick City is they partnered with The Food Bank to give families an opportunity to save money by bringing in canned foods to donate. The promo runs through Nov. 22.
"For every 5 canned foods you bring, you get 30 minute action pass in return," Park support manager Anna Biby said.
