Wet times through the weekend will lead to cool down next week

ST. LOUIS – Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will be around Friday morning. They move off to the south after 9am. Still hot Friday and more humid thanks to the rain; highs will be around 90.

An isolated shower may pop up south of St. Louis again Friday evening, but evening plans in the metro area and to the north and west look dry, including the Great Forest Park Balloon Glow.

Saturday starts dry with a mix of clouds and sun. Highs will be in the upper 80s. By Saturday evening, scattered rain and storms will start to develop. The late afternoon GFP Balloon Race should be a go, but storms may be developing as festivities are ending.

As a cold front pushes in Sunday, this looks like it is going to bring in more widespread rain to the Bi-State. Most of Sunday morning looks wet, bad news for my fellow Pedal the Causers. Rain may be spottier in the afternoon.

The plus side is that we need the rain. Oh, and there is another big plus side. Fall starts officially on Sunday, and this front will bring in a big cooldown for next week. Highs by Monday will be in the 70s.
