WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - Officers with the Wichita Falls Police Department arrested a 48-year-old man following a late-night vehicle pursuit.

According to the arrest affidavit, officers attempted to stop a 2016 Chevrolet on Nashua Drive for an expired registration sticker around 12:34 a.m.

WFPD said the vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit ensued and ended at Town and Country Drive and Marlette Circle. The driver, 48-year-old Bernard Sanders of Wichita Falls, was placed under arrest.

After investigating the path taken by Sanders during the pursuit, officers found a plastic baggie that contained a white powdery substance that tested positive for cocaine. The bag of cocaine weighed approximately 15.8 grams.

The officers also found a torn business card inside the baggie that read "ernard Sanders." The officers believed the "B" was torn off the card.

Sanders was taken to the Wichita County Jail where he was charged with evading arrest, tampering and drug possession.
