Kaplan has worked with the Allegheny Health Network and has been seeing patients in the Pittsburgh area for 20 years."We've all been on both sides of the situation," Kaplan said. "I think the first step is really keeping one's thoughts to themselves in some ways."Kaplan said talking with someone you trust and feel comfortable with can help, even if you disagree politically. "We don't want to make other people feel worse," Kaplan said. "I think it's coming together and supporting each other, really acknowledging how the other one feels is very important."Kaplan said if you need time to grieve or to celebrate, take it, but consider being kind, too.
