What’s Driving You Crazy? – A viewer isn’t happy with a case of “One-lane-itis” in the southeast valley

HENDERSON, NV ( KLAS ) – You're not imagining a severe case of "one-lane-itis" in the southeast, and one viewer has certainly noticed.

John writes:

"The center median project on Boulder Highway in Henderson has the road down to one lane in each direction. Seems like they could do a better job with their traffic control plan."

Well, john, be prepared for an extended period of "one-lane-itis" for the Regional Transportation Commission and the City of Henderson's Re-Imagine Boulder Highway Project.

If it helps, they're making progress, posting pictures of stormwater pipe installation at Barrett St, halfway between Sunset and Warm Springs.

When all is said and done, a couple of the things you'll notice: buses will use the middle of Boulder Highway, there will be signalized pedestrian crosswalks – and the speed limit has been permanently changed to 35mph.

Except for the speed limit change, the rest of the project has a long way to go. The project timeline started a couple of months ago – and won't wrap up until 2027.

Jim, hang in there. Thanks for writing.

Buckle up, drive carefully – and, please put down that phone!
