When Will Chicago Area See First Snow Of The Season?
ILLINOIS — As we continue into November, there's probably one question on Illinoisans' minds: when will it snow?
According to the National Weather Service records, the normal first date of measurable snow (.1 inches or more) is quickly approaching on Nov. 18.
However, as far as the forecast goes, there doesn't seem to be any snow in sight for the next week at least. Rain is in the forecast on Saturday and Sunday, but things dry out again for the start of next week, according to the current forecast.
Temperatures are also expected to be close to 60 degrees for the rest of the week and weekend.
The normal first date (Oct. 31) for a trace of snow has already passed for Chicago, according to weather service records.
With a La Niña winter on the way, forecasters have predicted that seasonal precipitation looks to be above normal with wetter-than-average conditions for Illinois, according to the outlook.
