BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A recent study ranked the cheapest state capitals to live in based on dining, markets and transportation costs. Baton Rouge was ranked in the top 20.

The study, conducted by Coupons4real.com , used data from Numbeo. The categories were combined to create a score out of 100 to find which state capital is the cheapest to live in. The rankings reflect the cost of meals, groceries and transportation in each city.

According to the study, Baton Rouge was placed in the 12th spot with a score of 64.73.

Charleston, West Virginia, ranked as the most affordable with a score of 74.78 for dining and going out. Jackson, Mississippi, came second with a score of 70.93, leading in transportation.
