Where to watch Week 8 college football games
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — Week 7 of the college football season lived up to the hype, and more big games are coming in Week 8.
Ole Miss traveled to Death Valley and left with a loss to LSU, 29-26. It was a comeback for the Tigers, as they trailed majority of the game. After forcing Ole Miss to settle for a field goal on its overtime possession, the Tigers needed just one play, as quarterback Garrett Nussmeier threw a back shoulder touchdown to Kyren Lacy to win the game. Lacy finished with 111 receiving yards and a touchdown in the win.
No. 2 Ohio State and No. 3 Oregon battled in Autzen Stadium. It was a thriller that came down to the wire. Oregon came away with the win, 32-31, after Ohio State quarterback Will Howard scrambled and slid down as time expired in the final drive of the game. Dillon Gabriel played arguably his best game in a Duck uniform, finishing 23-for-34 with 341 yards and two touchdowns. Evan Stewart gave the Buckeye defense fits, as he finished with seven catches for 149 yards and a score.
Alabama men's basketball leads new-look SEC
No. 7 Alabama escaped losing back-to-back games for the first time since 2007 with a 27-25 win over South Carolina. Bama jumped out to a quick 14-0 start, but the Gamecocks cut the lead down to two points before halftime. South Carolina led, 19-14, entering the fourth quarter, but two touchdowns in the quarter put the Crimson Tide back out in front. Bama's back was against the ropes after the Gamecocks recovered an onside kick with a chance to win. But it was USC transfer Domani Jackson who sealed the win with an interception.
