Why Riverview Park is Hannibal, Missouri’s Most Peaceful Place

I am not one to declare something as the best of anything since most opinions are subjective, but in this case I can't think of a better option. I truly believe that Riverview Park is Hannibal, Missouri's most peaceful place and I can't even think of a close second.

I'll mercifully spare you my life story, but suffice it to say that I have spent much of my life in Riverview Park in Hannibal as it was always the place I would go to think or try and find peace. How allusive that is. I took my family through one of the trails on the park today and captured some pictures to help prove my point.

The overlooks in Riverview are among my favorite places in the world. Nothing quite like sitting on the top of the marble seats that overlook the river and watch the Mississippi roll on by. Have deliberated many big life issues there and in some cases wish I had taken even more time to think before making decisions. Can't blame the river and the park above it for my questionable decisions.

Today was a nice experience walking on the trail with my wife and kids with only nearby squirrels making noise. It will get even better once the leaves start to turn into their Fall colors.

Peaceful? Yes. The most peaceful place ever in Hannibal? I think so.
