WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — The Wichita Falls ISD is continuing to progress on Riders' restoration, with a goal of having it ready by next school year. On Tuesday, November 12, during a special meeting, trustees hired an architect to begin to determine the scope of the project. WFISD invited to perform in London's 2026 New Year's Day Parade Superintendent Dr. Donny Lee said this item was budgeted for the fiscal year and is set at just over $279 thousand. Lee expects the board to approve a bid to begin work by January. "What we'll do is we will have people walk the buildings, and that that way, they can get an eyeball on. What does that look like? What is the scope of work, in other words? So, how much pain is needed? How many lights are needed? So we'll have all of these contractors come in. They'll take a look at it." Lee expects the work on Riders' restoration to be completed by the end of March or early April. The furniture will be moved in by the summer so it can be middle school-ready by the next school year.
