Wildfire Reaches 133 Acres In Gloucester County
Firefighters battling the Pheasant Run Wildfire, in the area of Carpenter Avenue in the Glassboro Wildlife Management Area in Gloucester County, have been there since Thursday afternoon .
It is one of two major wildfires burning in South Jersey on Friday. The Bethany Run wildfire had reached 360 acres and was 75 percent contained, forest fire service officials said, and while 104 structures remain threatened, evacuations had been lifted.
There are no structures threatened by the Pheasant Run Wildfire, forest fire service officials said, and no roads have been closed.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Crews are strategically burning fuel to slow its advance and assist with containment efforts, officials said.
The public should avoid Carpenter Avenue in Glassboro, officials said.
