William Gallas slams 'unacceptable' Arsenal stars for looking tired during poor run of form as former Gunners captain insists 'their arms don't ache from lifting trophies'

Former Arsenal captain William Gallas has torn into the current team, labelling them 'unacceptable' for looking lethargic so early in the season.

Arsenal's 1-0 defeat to Inter Milan on Wednesday night continued what has been a miserable run of form, having also failed to win any of their previous three Premier League games.

The Gunners have looked bereft of ideas in the absence of injured skipper Martin Odegaard , particularly on the road.

A lack of energy and spark has been a theme of the past month with the north London club slipping seven points behind Premier league leaders Liverpool.

Gallas, who spent four seasons at the Emirates, told Prime Casino : 'I know it's not easy to repeat the same things year after year, because when you're competing for the Premier League title, trying to be the best, you lose a lot of energy.

'I could understand Arsenal's levels dropping if they won the league last season, I wouldn't like it, but I would understand it because that can happen to successful teams.

'It's unacceptable for Arsenal's players to look tired at this time of the season. Liverpool won the Premier League; they won the Champions League .

'They dropped off last season, and you can understand why, because maybe the players has heard the same things from Klopp for too long. You forgive them that because of what they won, Arsenal doesn't have that excuse.

'Arsenal has won absolutely nothing! Nothing. Why are they tired? Their arms don't ache form lifting trophies.

'Explain to me why they are tired. Liverpool, they don't look tired, they look like they're ready to fight for the title.'

Gallas made 142 appearances for Arsenal but left the club without winning a trophy.
