Williamsport, Pa. — William K. "Bill" Sheleman, 66 years old, passed away from Alzheimer's disease at home on Sept. 18, 2024 with his loving family by his side.

Born in Williamsport on Feb. 19, 1958, he was a son of the late Charles and Helen Sheleman.

On July 8, 1983, he married his loving wife and best friend, the former Krystal Engle. Together they celebrated 41 years of marriage. Surviving in addition to his wife is his daughter and son-in law, Shannon and Dustin Bartron of South Williamsport and his grandson Eli Bartron, also of South Williamsport.

Bill was a talented carpenter, a jack of all trades, a calm easy going man who loved to work, always giving 110 percent to everything he did.

He was a devoted family man who cherished his family. Bill loved all holidays, he especially loved Christmas. He loved decorating the tree, setting up his Christmas Village and Train, and gathering with the family on Christmas Eve for the annual Christmas Eve Party. (Santa always came with a sack full of presents for the kids!) Summertime brought family cookouts and parties, a time to gather with family and friends. He would gladly help in the planning and setup, helping with whatever needed to be done to make the day special for everyone.

Bill shared a very close bond with his brothers. In their younger years they could often be found at one of their homes on the weekend, and sometimes on a week night, drinking many pots of coffee while working on a home remodeling project. If there currently weren't any projects in the works, they would be scheming on the next one.

One of Bill's biggest accomplishments was when he built us our house with his brothers working alongside him.

Family and friends knew that they could count on Bill for anything. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need

In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his brothers Charles and George and a sister, Stephanie. His surviving siblings are Pat (Larry) McKee of Muncy, Joyce (Ed) Simmons of Halifax, Robert, Ronald, Raymond (Michele), Richard (Ellen), and Stephen Sheleman of Williamsport.

As the ugly Alzheimer's disease took hold, Bill never lost his kind caring soul.

He will be forever remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, Pap Sheleman, and Uncle Bill.

A memorial service will be held at Wildwood Cemetery Chapel, 91 Wildwood Blvd., Williamsport at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, 2024.

Memorial contributions in Bill's name may be made to the Susquehanna Health Foundation for the benefit of Susquehanna Health Hospice, 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport PA 17701.
