Wiltshire in pictures: Dragons, cows and Jane Austen

In pictures: Dragons, cows and Jane Austen Spirits were high in Wiltshire this week, as people celebrated the Chinese Moon Festival and wildflowers bloomed despite autumn weather.

A lot was going on for animal lovers too, with a Highland cow that lives near Chippenham and fennec fox kits celebrating National Fox Day.

Dragon dance: On Sunday, celebrations were held at Stonehenge to mark the Chinese Moon Festival.

It is one of the most cherished traditions in Chinese culture, symbolising family reunions, gratitude and appreciation of the full moon.

A little bit of Scotland: This beautiful Highland cow lives at Whitehall Farm near Chippenham. Our county is home to many different breeds of cattle.

Flower power: Although autumn is upon us, this week has seen some sunny spells.

The warmer weather has given flower beds outside Great Western Hospital a boost, bringing a wash of colour to the landscape.

Growing grapes: The warm weather is also benefitting vineyards around the country, where higher quality crops are being produced.

These green Bacchus grapes at Whitehall Vineyard in Lacock are due to be harvested in a couple of weeks.

National Fox Day: Longleat marked this special day by releasing new images of their fennec fox kits.

They were born at the park in April and hand-reared by keepers after their mum, Zuri, struggled to take care of them.

Stepping back in time: More than 100 Jane Austen fans dressed up and headed to the Parade House in Trowbridge for afternoon tea.

The event was part of the ongoing Jane Austen Festival in Bath, Somerset.
