It means "Dark forest" and is from southern Chile. The wine tasting notes are toasty, slightly tangy white peach and golden apples with a dry finish. It pairs well with corn bread with honey. The wine is $30 per bottle at Old Vines Supper Club and is available by the glass at Old Vines Naples at Mercato. The second wine Zach showcased was the Domaine de L'ile "Porquerolles" Rose from southern France. The wine tasting notes are strawberries, grapefruit and tart cherries on the palate with a delicate spice from the Syrah and saline finish due to island terroir. It pairs well with garlic mashed potatoes, stuffing, or honey-glazed/smoked ham. The rose is $25 per bottle at Old Vines Supper Club.The next wine was the 2022 Domaine Les Gryphées Beaujolais Rouge Vieilles Vignes "Cuvée Centenaire - Les Balmes." Its tasting notes are aromas of red and purple flowers, cherries and red plums. It pairs well with roast beef, turkey with cranberry dressing, crispy duck breast, sweet potato casserole. It is $25 per bottle at Old Vines Supper Club.The final wine was a 2019 Bura-MrgUudic "Basina" Tribidrag. The tasting notes are powerful yet elegant with rich, deep fruity flavors with moderate tannins. The wine pairs well with brussels sprouts with bacon and balsamic glaze, prime rib, roasted lamb.
