The Bexar County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide case after finding a 63-year-old woman dead along the Salado Creek Greenway on Monday, September 23. Sheriff Javier Salazar said the woman, believed to be Stacey Dramiga, was reported missing by her husband after she didn't come home from her walk on Sunday, September 22.

Salazar said Dramiga was found about 30 yards off the paved greenway trail near Dafoste Park, not far from Commerce Street and Martin Luther King Drive. Dramiga, who frequents the trails, was last spotted around 10 a.m. before heading to the park, Salazar said.

Family and friends grew concerned and reported Dramiga missing to BCSO. Officials found her car in the park and tried to find her by pinging her phone, however, they were unable to locate her. To help with an overnight search, BCSO issued a CLEAR Alert on Monday. Detectives were able to narrow down where she was after using a family iPad to find her general location. She was later found in a wooded area off the main trail.

Salazar said investigators believe it was a homicide and foul play was involved but did not release what evidence was found. He said detectives believe she wasn't either forced or taken off the trail and into the wooden area.

Dramiga was last seen wearing a long-sleeve athletic-type shirt, yoga pants, and a hat and scarf. If anyone believes they came in contact with her, Salazar said to please call the BCSO (210) 335-6000.

"The greenway trails are absolutely safe but no matter where you are, whether the park or in a rural area or the middle of the city, you've got to be aware of your surroundings at all times," Salazar said. "You've got to make sure you are notifying someone of where you're going to be."
