Body of missing girl found in Calhoun Co.

FARNHAMVILLE, Iowa (KCAU) — Investigators have found the body of a missing girl in Calhoun County, Iowa, and one person has been detained.

According to a release from the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office , a juvenile female was reported missing Sunday in Farnhamville, Iowa. The sheriff's office went to investigate the report, and law enforcement detained a man.

Authorities found the body of the missing person Monday morning after further investigation. The body was later identified as Jane Doe, the release said.

There is no threat to the public, the release states. Charges are also pending.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation said details of the juvenile female and the man are not being released at this time as there is an active investigation.

The Iowa DCI, Iowa State Patrol, Webster County Sheriff's Office, Greene County Sheriff's Office and other local police departments assisted the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office.
