Woman Shot to Death in Westmont Area of Los Angeles County
A woman who was shot to death Sunday morning in the Westmont community of unincorporated Los Angeles County was found in the driver's seat of a car, authorities said.
The shooting occurred at about 12:40 a.m. in the 2000 block of Century Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Deputies sent to the scene regarding a gunshot victim found the Los Angeles Police Department already at the scene responding to a traffic crash. The woman was found inside a car that had crashed into a concrete foundation in an alley south of Century Boulevard and South Gramercy Place.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said that based on the location of the incident, the sheriff's department has taken over the investigation.
