A woman was recently saved from the Chattahoochee River by Columbus Fire & EMS and the Columbus Police Department, according to a Facebook post from CPD.

The woman and her dog had become stranded after water levels on the river rose, according to the post.

CPD's drone unit was deployed to monitor the situation while the fire department made the rescue, according to the post.

A video of drone footage from the rescue was included in the post, showing four fire department personnel make their way on a raft to the woman and steady the raft on rocks near the woman.

One of the fire department personnel then handed the woman a life jacket and helped her and then the dog into the raft before heading downstream and taking the woman and dog to shore.
