Grand Island is now part of the Woodhouse auto empire.

The Woodhouse Automotive Group, based in Omaha, has purchased Cornhusker Toyota and Honda in Grand Island.

The acquisition took place on Sept. 3 and operations have begun under the new ownership, says a Woodhouse release. "The addition of Toyota and Honda brings the Woodhouse portfolio to 23 brands that operate across eastern Nebraska and western Iowa," the release says.

"Woodhouse has had the privilege to serve customers across the state of Nebraska and the opportunity to continue to offer our customers new brands and locations outside the Omaha metro was an easy choice for our organization. We look forward to being an active member of the Grand Island community and have some exciting plans for the Toyota and Honda brands in the market," Jason Pittack, Woodhouse president and CEO, says in a statement.

The business is at 3510 Kaufman Ave.

Woodhouse began in 1975 in Blair. In addition to Omaha, other dealerships are in Bellevue, Plattsmouth, Sioux City, Iowa, and Missouri Valley, Iowa.
