JACKSON, Wyo. — The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) announced that it will be paving sections of US26/89 through Jackson beginning on Monday, Sept. 23, with work expected to conclude on Oct. 11.

WYDOT will work with Evans Construction crews to pave sections of the road they previously milled. Work is scheduled on the highway from High School Road to the five-way intersection with Flat Creek Dr. and Pearl Ave., along with part of the Y intersection with WY22.

Work will be carried out during daylight hours, with a previous announcement estimating a schedule of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and WYDOT says businesses along the route will still be accessible.

"While the work is underway, WYDOT and the contractor will make every effort to maintain two-way traffic and access to businesses within the 5-lane sections to help reduce delays and congestion," WYDOT's announcement said. "The work has been scheduled at this time to avoid peak summer traffic while still meeting WYDOT's specifications for paving temperatures."

WYDOT encourages drivers to be alert and cautious of workers. Expect reduced speeds and potential delays.
