24-year-old killed in shooting at MAX platform identified

PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) - A man who was shot and killed at a MAX platform in northeast Portland last week has been identified.

On Thursday, Sept. 19, at about 7:30 p.m., officers responded to a shooting at Northeast 148th Avenue and East Burnside Street. Officers arrived to the MAX platform and found 24-year-old Taysean Nash dead.

The medical examiner determined Nash died of homicide by gunshot wound.

Police provided a statement from Nash's family: "He touched many lives and had friends from all walks of life. He loved and protected ALL of his siblings no matter what. And he is VERY LOVED by many."

Felix Angelo Juarez-Perez, 42, was arrested after the shooting. He was booked into the Multnomah County Jail for second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon.

The investigation is ongoing.
