YOSEMITE, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Yosemite National Park will host Irish Irish National Park for a special ceremony to formalize the park's relationship in October.

In the ceremony, officials say, a formal, sister park agreement will be signed between Wild Nephin National Park in Ireland and Yosemite National Park. The five-year agreement will provide the opportunity for both parks to collaborate on best practices and share ideas between the national parks.

In May 2024, officials say Yosemite NP Superintendent Cicely Muldoon and Yosemite Conservancy President and CEO Frank Dean traveled to Ireland to see the Wild Nephin National Park and conducted a similar ceremony.

The Twinning Ceremony, which will be held on Oct. 3 at 11 a.m. in Glacier Point, will formalize the relationship between the two iconic national parks.
