1 dead, 1 hospitalized after Newark motorcycle crash

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A woman died Thursday in a motorcycle crash in Newark.
According to the Newark Police Department, two people were on the motorcycle around 4:44 p.m. when it drove onto a sidewalk along West Union Street. The driver tried to get back onto the road, but lost control of the motorcycle, throwing the female passenger off.
The passenger was taken to Newark Wayne Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The driver was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with what police said were not life-threatening injuries.
Police are investigating the crash.
