1 dead, another critically injured after Las Vegas house fire

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - A man is dead and a woman has critical injuries following a Las Vegas house fire.

Las Vegas Fire & Rescue said they responded to a house fire near I-11 and Jones Boulevard Wednesday night.

Crews arrived at Catalina Street within four minutes. Firefighters forced entry and found two victims, a man and a woman.

Crews were able to get both of them out of the home while they continued to contain the fire.

The woman was transported to the hospital in critical condition. LVFR said the man died from his injuries.

Firefighters say two individuals were "illegally on the premises." The city did not provide any details further on their relation to the fire. The cause is still under investigation.

The damage is an estimated $50K.

"No current or recent Code Enforcement or Fire Prevention inspection activities are associated with this address," Las Vegas Fire & Rescue says.
