WEST LINN Ore. (KPTV) - Two teens are in intensive care after their car crashed into a power pole early Wednesday morning near West Linn.

FOX 12 spoke with the father of one of the teens - but he didn't want to talk on camera yet because the crash was so fresh. He said his daughter's condition has stabilized but she and the other teen are still in the trauma ICU.

It was just before 1:00 a.m. Wednesday morning when a car carrying two local high school students crashed into a power pole on Southwest Borland Road near Turner Road.

"We lost power for about 12 hours," Neighbor Brandon Burt said Thursday afternoon. Burt lives right next door to where the crash happened.

"I didn't hear it but my wife did and she described a very loud bang and a little bit of a flash," Burt said.

He says where the road curves in front of his house – has a long history of being a dangerous stretch of Borland.

"We have had numerous instances that I have witnessed vehicle wrecks my wife has been rear-ended on this road in our driveway we have had other cars hit that same power pole," Burt said.

While family and classmates are hoping for a full recovery, neighbors want to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else.
