The shop would be at the Garden Market Shopping Center, 4700 Gilbert Ave., where Mariano's is.
Trustee James Tyrrell told the Village Board that the shop serves "top shelf" liquor and offers haircuts, manicures and pedicures, among other services. Patrons can get one drink during grooming, then another at the on-site bar on the premises, he said.
According to Hammer and Nails' website, the chain is in 14 states, but has no other shops in Illinois. One is expected to open early next year in Naperville.
Tyrrell told the board that his committee reacted favorably to Hammer and Nails' request for a liquor license. He gave no timeline for the shop's opening.
