Annual Save The Sound CT Cleanup To Take Place In Trumbull Sunday Residents are invited to join Sustainable Trumbull for a cleanup event at Twin Brooks Park with their Save the Sound partners.

TRUMBULL, CT — Residents are invited to join Sustainable Trumbull for a cleanup event with their Save the Sound partners Sunday morning at Twin Brooks Park.

According to the town website , the event is scheduled to take place Sept. 22 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., during which gloves and bags will be provided.

Participants are invited to join in for some or all of the event, which is also a great opportunity for student community service hours.

Registration is requested and can be done so .

Large groups may be directed to alternate locations to clean up various sites around town.

According to town officials, the Connecticut cleanup is a state-wide effort hosted by Save the Sound as part of Ocean Conservancy's International Coastal Cleanup.

This global event, held mid-September on International Coastal Cleanup Day, has motivated over 11.5 million people around the world to pick up over 210 million pounds of trash from nearly 390,000 miles of shoreline.

"Join the CT Cleanup to help us continue this effort and stop trash in its tracks," the town's post reads.
