Aussie woman reveals 'I could have been the next Kim Kardashian' after meeting Kanye at Ivy and being invited to party with the rap superstar

A woman who had a chance encounter with Kanye West in Sydney in the mid-aughts has declared she could have been the next Kim Kardashian .

Sydneysider Belle, who appeared on KIIS FM Wednesday, told radio host Kyle Sandilands how she met the rapper at The Ivy and was invited to party with him.

Belle couldn't tell Kyle exactly what year this occurred, but she said it was in Kanye's era of the wearing the coloured shutter shades.

'He was in the days where he was rocking the Venetian glasses, you know, the bright yellow ones?' she said.

Kanye first wore a pair of shutter shades - also known as slatted shades, louvered shades, or Venetian blind shades - in his Stronger music video in 2007.

In late 2006, Kanye brought his The Touch the Sky Tour Down Under, in support of his second studio album, Late Registration.

It was the second world tour of his music career.

'He was really smooth,' Belle recalled.

'He was trying to find out what we were doing after.'

Belle was partying with her friends at billionaire Justin Hemmes' Ivy nightclub in the midst of its 2000s glory days, when the Merivale venue was often frequented by high rollers and A-list international artists.

'Do you remember his breath?' Kyle asked her, likely in reference to doctors' claims the rapper's titanium veneers can cause halitosis .

Belle didn't recall, but admitted the rapper 'was heaps shorter than I thought!'

She said that she remembers feeling nervous and excited in the presence of the 5'8 fashion designer, and said that he'd repeatedly asked her what she was doing after the party.

'He was like, "What you doing after?"'

Ultimately, Belle turned the famous musician down and chose to remain with friends.

'I was like "F**k! I could've been the next Kim!" she exclaimed, and then sighed. 'But I'm not.'

Kanye went on to marry Kardashian and have four children with the socialite before their divorce in 2022.

He went on to marry Australian Yeezy employee Bianca Censori that same year.

It comes after reports Ivy's Level 6 bar was described as being 'one step short' of 'a brothel', by an unnamed manager last month.

Staff at the ritzy venue, where membership costs $10,000 a year, have detailed allegations of sexual assault and being pressured into pleasing the largely wealthy male clientele.

In return, the hand-picked bevy of glamorous young women, mostly aged between 18 and 21, employed as 'hosts' would take home Gucci handbags and up to $600 in tips for a couple of nights' work.

An unnamed staff member told Nine newspapers that workers were 'expressly told' they could not refuse a guest who wanted to buy them a drink.

Another said when senior Merivale staff were in the venue drunk and or high, staff would be 'pressured' into drinking with them, and it was 'very difficult' to say no.

Merivale told Nine newspapers it took the allegations extremely seriously but had no record of them.
