Authorities investigate accident with injuries on Highway 60 in Daviess County

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The Daviess County Sheriff's Office is investigating an accident with injuries that happened on Sunday in the 6800 block of US Highway 60 east near Maceo.

According to a release, authorities say they believe a Dodge SUV was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes prior to the accident. Investigators say the SUV sideswiped an eastbound vehicle causing minor damage and then collided head on with a Lincoln SUV causing severe damage to both vehicles.

The driver of the Lincoln SUV was reportedly ejected from the vehicle, but only sustained moderate injuries. The driver of the Dodge SUV was extricated by fire fighters and sustained severe injuries.

Deputies are still investigating whether alcohol or controlled substances were a factor in the crash.
