Bloomer man killed in one-vehicle crash

CHIPPEWA FALLS — A 27-year-old Bloomer man died in a one-vehicle crash Wednesday morning in Chippewa County.

According to the Chippewa County Sheriff's Office, Kyle Baker was traveling northbound on Highway 40, near Highway B, at about 1:41 a.m. when his vehicle left the roadway, entered the ditch, and overturned numerous times. Baker was ejected from the vehicle.

Life-saving measures were performed, but Baker died at the scene.

Alcohol is suspected to be a contributing factor in the crash, the press release states.

The Chippewa County Sheriff's Office, Chippewa Fire District Fire Department, Chippewa Fire District Ambulance Service, and Mayo Clinic Helicopter Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
