Booneville man facing drug, weapons charges

BOONEVILLE – A routine traffic stop ended with a Prentiss County man facing multiple felony charges.

A Prentiss County deputy sheriff made a traffic stop on South Lake Street in Booneville in late September. Joshua Corey Huddleston, 40, of Booneville, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance enhanced with a firearm, and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Huddleston also had an active felony warrant for felony drug possession and was under supervision by the Mississippi Department of Corrections, which placed a hold on him.

During his initial appearance on the new charges, Prentiss County Justice Court Judge Craig Bishop set his bond at $100,000.
