Chicago man allegedly carjacked woman in Portage Park

- A Chicago man allegedly carjacked a woman at gunpoint in Portage Park earlier this month.

Andrew Moran, 27, faces one felony count of vehicular hijacking.

The charge stems from an incident that occurred on Nov. 7 in the 4000 block of North Laramie Avenue, when Moran allegedly carjacked a 21-year-old woman.

Moran was arrested Tuesday in the 5500 block of West Grand Avenue. His detention hearing is set for Wednesday.

An arrest report gives more details about what occurred before a man was shot to death Wednesday in the 3200 block of West Edgewood Avenue. Investigators observed surveillance video that showed the victim driving an orange Chevrolet Camaro with orange rims at the intersection of Edgewood Avenue and New Kings Road, according to the JSO arrest report for Lavertis Reed, 20, who was charged with murder in the shooting. A man who worked for the U.S. government has been charged with leaking classified information assessing Israel's earlier plans to attack Iran, according to court papers filed Wednesday. The man, identified as Asif William Rahman, was arrested by the FBI this week in Cambodia and was due to make his first court appearance in Guam. The documents noted that Israel was still moving military assets in place to conduct a military strike in response to Iran's blistering ballistic missile attack on Oct. 1.
