Mystery over red paint attack on dementia hub
M.Green1 hr ago
Police are investigating after red paint was thrown across a number of shop fronts and entrances to apartments in Bradford city centre. The attack took place overnight on Rawson Place near the Oastler Shopping Centre and is being treated as criminal damage. As well as red paint the word 'borthel' and some numbers were sprayed in black on two windows, including a unit where the Bradford Dementia Hub is based. Although a motive for the attack has yet to be established, it is not believed that the hub was the intended target. Sinead Cregan is from Inspire North, which runs the hub for Bradford Council. She said: "The only thing that I can tell you is that there is red paint on the windows and we are cleaning it. "We are not involved with the flats. We rents the units that the hub is based in. "The staff are fine and it's business as usual as we have got a service to run." A spokeswoman for West Yorkshire Police said the incident was reported earlier today. She added: "The incident is being treated as criminal damage which is believed to have happened sometime overnight. "We will be investigating, but are waiting to interview the owner of the flats." AMHC City Apartments, which manages the properties, confirmed that it was aware of the incident. The flats are advertised online and have self check-in available, with 24-hour access.
