City of Tampa Utilities resume water meter readings
TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The City of Tampa will resume water meter readings this week in an effort to give customers updated water bills following Hurricane Milton.
The City of Tampa Utilities staff have been unable to conduct meter readings since mid-October due to debris.
Since Hurricane Helene and Milton, customers have received estimated bills from the City of Tampa.
According to the City of Tampa, conditions have improved to allow staff better access to customers' meters.
Customers whose water metes can be read will receive an updated utility bill by mid-November, the City of Tampa stated.
This updated bill will reflect the actual water usage over the past two months.
Water meters that cannot be accessed by staff with receive a second estimated bill, according to the City of Tampa.
The City of Tampa Utilities will not issue late fees for any bills during this time, if customers have questions, they are asked to call the Utilities Call Center at 813-274-8811 or submit questions online.
