3.5-magnitude earthquake shakes Borrego Springs

BORREGO SPRINGS, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.5 was recorded near Borrego Springs Thursday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) reported.

The quake struck about 13.67 miles north of the desert community just before 12:40 a.m. at a depth of about 6 miles, the USGS noted .

Residents as far north as Palm Springs and Desert Hot Springs in Riverside County reported feeling weak to light shaking, according to the survey's Did You Feel It? map. In San Diego County, light shaking was reported in Valley Center, San Marcos and El Cajon.

There are currently no reports of injuries or damage in connection to this quake.
