Coláiste Eoin Hacketstown pupil crowned Student of the Year at prestigious awards

Adam was one of 13 "future leaders" from post-primary schools in counties Kilkenny and Carlow awarded the accolade, which recognises personal and academic achievement, from extra-curricular activities to kindness to others, and student's willingness to take an active part in school life.

In Adam's case, the honour is a testament to his hard work, academic excellence, and outstanding contribution to the school community.

A Coláiste Eoin spokesperson said that Adam's leadership and involvement in extracurricular activities truly set him apart, with his "positive attitude and dedication to his education" earning him the well-deserved recognition.

"On behalf of everyone at Coláiste Eoin, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Adam and his family," they said.

"We are excited to see all the incredible things he will accomplish in the future!

"Adam attended the awards with his proud parents to celebrate this remarkable achievement.

"Their unwavering support has played a crucial role in his success, and we are delighted to share this special moment with our school community."

After Adam received his specially commissioned solid silver medal from the chairperson of KCETB, Cllr Andrea Dalton, KCETB Chief Executive Eileen Curtis, congratulated each one of the students, hailing them as "leaders of the future".

Addressing the students and their parents, Ms Curtis said: "Having listened to all the citations, I'm sure everyone will agree that these students are exceptional young people and marvellous ambassadors for our schools.

"They have shown leadership skills beyond their years and have flourished through learning during their time in secondary school."

She encouraged them to "continue to set high standards and confidently embrace the many opportunities which will present in the years ahead", before wishing them well in their future studies and in their lives.
