WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Resources are readily available Friday for the unhoused population in Wichita.

The Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center is hosting a Homeless Stand Down at Hyde Park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

There are more than 50 services available for anyone who is homeless, including VA benefits, housing assistance, counseling, substance abuse referrals and haircuts.

"We can't get them off the streets if we're just going to drive by and just hope for the best. We have to be out there supporting them. They need the leg up, they need the support, so that's why we're out here," Kenny Barker, Homeless Program Supervisor at the Robert J. Dole VA Hospital, said.
