CT man killed following crash on I-91 involving box truck, tractor-trailer
A Connecticut man was killed when the box truck he was driving collided with the rear of a tractor-trailer on Interstate 91 in Wallingford on Monday.
The crash was reported on I-91 North just past Exit 15 shortly before 2 p.m., according to Connecticut State Police .
William Risley, 56, of Watertown was driving a box truck owned by a rental company in the center of three lanes when he rear-ended a tractor trailer that was also in the center lane, state police said. Risley was taken to the Midstate Medical Center in Meriden where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 53-year-old New York man, suffered what was described as "possible injuries" and was taken to the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain, state police said.
Both vehicles needed to be towed.
The crash remains under investigation.
